Elia, the automatic translator for Elhuyar, now also has a voice
- Elhuyar's neural automatic translation now incorporates TTS technology, which allows you to hear the translations you propose.
- Elia joins the Telegram messaging app to facilitate multilingual communication.
Elia, the Elhuyar automatic translator, incorporates significant improvements and innovations on her fourth anniversary.
On the one hand, TTS technology has been added. Thus, in addition to asking for the translation of a text, we can command you to read it and we will be able to hear the translation proposed by us in the neural synthetic voices developed by Elhuyar. To do this, simply press the speaker button and select a voice (male or female). Phrase by phrase, we will see the text we are hearing highlighted in blue. As in the case of translations, it has integrated voices in six languages. For the moment, this functionality is available on the website; it will soon also be available for mobile and desktop applications.
The work of integrating the TTS service on the website Elia.eus has been assisted by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
On the other hand, Elia has joined Telegram. In this way, the messages received through this instant messaging application can be translated into any of the six languages offered by Elia. Simply add “Elhuyar Elia” to the contacts and send there the message you want to translate.

Similarly, Elia can continue to be used on the web elia.eus to translate both short texts and formatted documents. In the case of documents, the way of making the purchase has been facilitated and can now be paid both by Paypal and by bank card.
