  • Elhuyar organizes the CAF-Elhuyar awards in collaboration with CAF and NEIKER.
  • The motto of the 2022 edition is "Science and imagination, the keys to the future."
  • Work can be presented until 12 February 2022.

The new edition of the CAF-Elhuyar Awards is already underway, a competition whose objective is to recognize and encourage the dissemination of scientific and technological research and topics in Basque.

The competition is organised by Elhuyar, in collaboration with CAF and NEIKER.

The motto of the 2022 edition is "Science and imagination, the keys to the future." And that is that our society has great challenges for the future: dealing with the climate emergency, eliminating social inequalities, accepting diversity ... Science will be an indispensable tool for achieving this, as will imagination. Imagining the future will require courage, and one of the first steps could be to participate in the CAF-Elhuyar awards. Authors and creators who adhere to the motto will have the opportunity to present their work in the following categories:

  • Original disclosure articles. This category is divided into two subcategories: general disclosure articles and disclosure articles based on the author's or the author's doctoral thesis. In each subcategory, the winner or winner will receive a prize of 2,000 euros, an annual subscription to the Elhuyar magazine and a sculpture by Imanol Andonegi Mendizabal.
  • [Scientific journalism]. The winner or winner will receive 2,000 euros, an annual subscription to Elhuyar magazine and a sculpture.
  • [Creation scholarship]. This category includes projects that address the interaction between science/technology and society. The authors of the projects selected will receive a grant of EUR 5,000 for their execution and a sculpture.

The NEIKER Prize will also be awarded to the best article related to the primary sector; the prize consists of EUR 2,000, and is compatible with the other prizes.

The works are to be presented before 12 February 2022 in this direction: cafelhuyarsariak.elhuyar.eus
