The digital broadcasting medium Elhuyar Zientzia was born about a year ago. It was created in the face of the need to adapt to the constant changes of the media and to the digital transformation, with the conviction that the dialogue between science and society is capable of changing the world and aware that we live in an information society.

Since then, Elhuyar Zientzia has established itself as a solid project for scientific communication. It has 534,000 users, among young people and adults, with more women than men. Regarding the contents, the main and most consulted topic is health; it is followed by humanities, equality issues and biology. By sections, the news section is the one that generates the most interest, followed by videos, podcasts, interviews, opinions, etc And most users (90%) visit the media from a desktop computer.

It is also worth highlighting the participation in the opinion section of scientists and reference technologists, since they have published articles, for example: Mirene Begiristain Zubillaga, PhD in Economics, Professor at EHU and expert in issues of equality and agroecology; Arturo Elosegi Irurtia, Professor of Ecology, Professor and Researcher at EHU; Itziar Laka Mugarza, PhD in Linguistics, Professor at EHU and Member of Jakiunde; Itziar Alkorta Idiakez, PhD in Law and Professor Vaseconz The BRTA consortium was joined by Jon Kepa Gerrikagoitia and Garbiñe Manterola, and by BC3 Unai Pascual González de Azilu, Ana Terra Amorín and Daniel Cortés. All of them have been involved in this first year by offering a critical look and putting the accent on social issues.

From now on, the digital media Elhuyar Zientzia will continue to offer science and technology topics in a wide variety of formats: news, interviews, reports, videos, podcasts, surveys, photo galleries, opinion articles, ephemeris, monographs and decals. With the added opportunity to read carefully the contents in the magazine Elhuyar, which will give us the possibility to enjoy at another pace interesting and complex topics, in-depth interviews and scientific and technological advances that are published in the digital medium.

The digital medium Elhuyar Zientzia is created in Basque, with voices and local views and collecting content from around the world. It uses the most advanced technologies developed in Elhuyar: automatic translator to six languages (Basque, Spanish, English, French, Catalan and Galician), automatic voices for text listening, automatic content proposals And in the future it will have more technological innovations.
