The keys to health in the cycle of colloquia “Emakume zientzialarien argitan”
- Organized jointly by Elhuyar and Donostia Kultura, this cycle will offer three sessions in the fall of 2025.
- Through face-to-face interviews, the keys to health will be addressed with the scientists Maialen Araolaza Arrieta, Aitana Lertxundi Manterola and Eli Gallego Moreiro.
- The talks will be in Basque, in the hall of events of the House of Culture Ernest Lluch.
The colloquium cycle “Emakume zientzialarien argitan” (In the light of women scientists) is organized jointly by Elhuyar and Donostia Kultura. Three talks will be held in the autumn: 30 September, 21 October and 6 November. All will take place at 19:00 in the hall of events of the Ernest Lluch Culture House.
Through personal interviews led by Elhuyar's scientific communicator Ana Galarraga Aiestaran, we will be able to meet three women scientists who research and work on three fundamental factors that directly affect human health (physical exercise, environment and food): Maialen Araolaza Arrieta, Aitana Lertxundi Manterola and Eli Gallego Moreiro.
The objective of this project is to get to know women scientists, since in the history of science and technology the contributions of women have been relegated and hidden, and even today the discrimination suffered by women in this area remains evident.

The nutritionist and dietitian Eli Gallego Moreiro (Hondarribia) is founder and director of the Elikaeskola center. The work team of the center is composed of nutritionists and clinical psychologists, who treat disorders and pathologies related to food, also paying attention to the psychological part, as well as to education and the social environment. They offer courses, workshops and conferences, and Eli Gallego also often participates in the media with the aim of educating on the advantages of healthy eating.
The three colloquiums will be held in Euskera, at 19:00 hours, in the hall of events of the house of culture Ernest Lluch.
The audios of the colloquiums will be heard in the posters of DK Irratia de Donostia Kultura and in the cast “Emakume zientzialarien argitan” of Elhuyar. The latter will be able to listen to the interventions of all the women who have participated in the tertulia cycle.
