The deadline for registration at Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka is now open. In 2024, in addition to the Bilbao fair, the fairs of Navarra, Gipuzkoa and Lapurdi will also be held. Navarre will be held in Pamplona, Gipuzkoa in Usurbil and Lapurdi in Kanbo and Ziburu.
Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka is an initiative of scientific projects developed by young people between 12 and 18 years of age, which allows to know from within scientific research and technological development and in which young people from ESO and Bachillerato can participate from all schools in the Basque Country. In addition, Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka is also a project to promote the use of Euskera.
In order to provide young people with the necessary support and offer them close references from the professional world STEM, Elhuyar has brought together a large group of researchers from the Basque Science and Technology Network to advise students in their work. In fact, more than 200 researchers sign up each year (about 56% are usually women) to advise students, and the deadline remains open.
Students, boys and girls, work as a team around a theme of their choice: ask questions, research, design, build, share and live new experiences. They will meet real professionals, share adventures and experiences with them and they will help them in the development of their projects.
The result of the work will be a STEAM project in Basque, which will be known first hand during the month of May, at the central event of Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka (Arenal Pier of Bilbao), which will take place from 22 to 25 May, where all the projects will be announced.
